Live life… Fast!

She’s Here!

Finally, after many battles with the bank, and the supplier! She handles like a dream. Very crisp steering (hope that makes sense)

Me and a friend went for a little late night drive, to just get a feel. Im still a bit cautious with this bike, as im not used sit on a big bike like this. im used to the VFR’s smaller dimentions. But that will pass quickly I am sure. I’ve stalled the bike a couple of times as I also need to get used to the clutch. Over all extremely awesome. Me and this bike is going to have an amazing time. Now I need to organize a breakfast run, or join some other breakfast run! Pitty this friend of mine’s learner license expires so soon! When can we doa E.T trip?

So witout further babble from me here she is. I will take some better pics tomorrow… oh wait, later today and publish them rather.

She’s gone… for ever….

My Old VFR400 NC30

Sold her to a fellow biker from the ThinkBike community. Franna, may she take you on many happy journeys, and look after her.
Use chainwax on the chain, not oil, fill her up with fully synthetic oil, not this biological cheap oil. Wash her after each breakfast run.
All in all, take good care of her. She will do the same ;-)

This bike has been very good to me. It tought me many things. One of those things are respect. The VFR is a very forgiving bike, but you still learn your mistakes. Dropping the clutch to fast while the revs are to high will cause i little tail slide, or back wheel spin but you will not go down. Lesson learned. This bike tought me how to counter steer. the idea of turning the handle bars in the oposite direction may seem scary at first, but getting used to it takes a while. Lane splitting is another thing. It is rather scary at 1st to filter through traffic, but eventually i got used to it, and got to love it. No more traffic jams. This list can go on. I will miss that bike, but it is time to move on to bigger things. I need a bike that can take me on longer journeys. I want to go down to the eastern transvaal without needing a cyropractor by the time i get there. I also dont want to have issues with long uphills, or a bike that cooks my inner legs. A inline four is the answer, and I have decided on the GSXR750. It is nice and big with plenty of tourque for those long uphills. It is not as fast as the GSVR or the 1000cc, but still have the capability of doing short breakfast runs, or a comfortable long and steady ride down to Sabie/Graskop. All and all a very nicely balanced road bike! Will post images as soon as I have it!

The cost of stupidity with a Rand vallue

Smashing your own car’s window just after PG Glass told you the window Costs R1200is not one of themost comfortable things to do.

So i did this very stupid thing, and locked my keys in the boot, and i do not have a spare.

I was doing some stuff in the boot and left the keys in the boot as i closed it. I mean who still does that? You lock your keys in the car when you are 18, and just got your 1st car! Called the lock smith, they said that because of the double lock feature of the focus they can do nothing for me. called about 3 of them. Then i called ford, to see what they can offer as a sollution. They said if the double lock is enganded, they too can offer me no advice except to pick the smallest window..
I really really really did not want to do that, but in the end there was no choice. So i put a blanket ofer the window and 1st tried with a huge wooden log. That did not work. So I went over to 3 pound hammer. Nothing. It just bounces!!!! Then went over to a screw driver as the force will be on a smaller area, thus the force will be greater i though. Still nada! Then i called pg glass and ask them how to break this f’n thing. the only way was to wedge a screwdriver at the thin side, then apply presure slowly until it cracks. that was the only way. Pretty impressive!
Oh by the way, the rear side window costs R1 200
Thank goodness i have inusrance that is fully comprehensive with no excess

Not to mention the phsycological damage of doing this to your car!
