Poison Rally
Guess who is going on the poison rally!
Now for those of you on the other side of the big pond, The poison rally is an event that run’s once a year where bikers from all over S.A ride in various groups and meet up in one of the provinvces and then stay there for the weekend.
Amy this is not to far from “the” hiking spot. (about 120 miles away) The route is about 250 km. Will be leaving on friday, then come back on sunday.
Still deciding which group tp join. There is the thinkbike crowd which is a non profit org aiming to premote bike awareness, and then there is a bikers club that has invited me to join their new chapter.

This image was taken at on a friend’s farm about 500km outside of Johannesburg. It is one of the best places to clear my mind when the view of the world becomes hazy. Seeing as how much I love hiking this is an amazing place to do some walking as well. This is a rather large piece of land, so doing a 20 mile hike in some of the most beautiful parts of south africa is easy. It is all the fresh air far away from the city. The city with all it ‘s noise and the buzz in my mind 24/7 can some times get to much!

Motorcycles, Fast and flashy cars, painting the town red almost every chance i get. But then also:
Hiking in the pure beauty that Africa has to offer. Diving in the ocean and seeing the largely untouched and unpolluted part of nature under water. The study of cultures, both local and international. Travel to all the corners of the world. When i have a chance and money of course i love to travel and experience other cultures. I try to see at least one country a year. We get so wrapped up in our own little lives. Sometimes on the internet you can get a glimpse of what other countries are like, but that is only teasers. having the Experience in real life is what it is all about! Seeing another culture living life their own way, and then learning about it brings massive joy and pleasure to me. Understanding the way that others experience life, and the whole science behind it fascinates me!

No idea how they came up with the poison name. I know that people normally get pissed drunk over there. Im more of a 1 or 2 beers kind of person, and when im on a bike i don’t drink at all!

Dont know if I want to join a bike club yet. I would much rather start my own. maybe convert my2wheels into a fully fletched legal and valid bikers club…
I REALLY like that idea. If you decide to do that, I’m in!
Thing is, at the moment we can do what we want, ride where we want and we don’t have anyone telling us what to do and where to do it.
Ok so tomorrow is the day! My bags are packed, bike is fueled, and i’m ready to go! I just pray for a sunny day and a safe trip! My 1st long(ish) trip on 2 wheels. Worried about the wrists a little, but should be fine! Poison rally here I come!!!! I will take lots of fotos for you all!

Sooooo, how was it?????
Well it was the second best biking experience of my life.
after that run, the idea of my2wheels grew in my mind. but not to worry! we will have a run like this as soon as you get back on 2! It is close enough for a 1st long trip. And there is a beautiful piece of road. well a couple really, but one in particular. Brand new tarmac, all sweeping bends, and huge! at least 10 – 15 sweeping bends, and the total distance of that piece of road is about 15 km! Then a little further there is a pub that serves cold drinks (non alcoholic as well, with an awesome view over a nature reserve) i want to do this run soon again! we need at least 3 bikes to make it worth while! Perhaps a car as well. we can take the girls with. they can bring the car if they do not want to pillion. I’m pretty sure my girlfriend will prefer the car. There are some awesome pools to swim it at night. Heated pools, and natural warm water sources. Some even as high as 50 degrees! They say it very healthy in those mineral spas. Also a very nice feeling relaxing in the spa after a long ride. Of course there is a cold water pool as well. Im am still trying a way to feed a flickr set into this post. but in the mean time go here:
the best was the breakfast run i had with you guys to harties. That harties trip was my introduction into bikes. before that it was up and down botha ave on the vfr

ek het so pas my full colours gekry die naweek(8sep)ons was ook op die verhoog en het my colours ontvang voor almal in i doek en tiet borel in my hand stroop in my hare en gras saam dit was was heel dag ondgroen in die dam ens.ek dink rerag ons club het bie gees en is bly om i full member te wees!!!
